The Atlantic reported that Ukrainian officials had proposed to President Volodymyr Zelensky a plan to use autonomous AI-guided drones to strike airports serving Moscow, according to two sources familiar with the discussions. The proposal reportedly aimed to escalate pressure on Russia by threatening its aviation infrastructure. According to a follow-up Atlantic report, Zelensky authorized a plan to swarm Moscow's airports with roughly 1,000 small AI-guided drones, despite being warned the operation could endanger civilian aircraft and passengers. Zelensky's office has dismissed the account as 'total nonsense,' denying that such authorization was given.
